Prescribed Fire Equipment

Access to the right equipment is one of the biggest barriers for landowners and volunteers interested in prescribed fire. The Truckee River Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is helping remove that barrier by building a shared equipment cache designed to support safe, effective, and professional burns across the region.

Members will have access to essential tools such as drip torches, fire rakes, shovels, hose lays, water tanks, portable pumps, and basic ignition and holding gear. The cache will also include critical safety equipment like radios, weather kits, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to support compliant operations.

By providing shared resources, the Truckee River PBA reduces individual costs while increasing local capacity to implement good fire. This approach empowers community members to work together, complete more projects, and build hands-on experience—strengthening wildfire resilience throughout the Truckee area.
